Origin
The Euphorbia erythrea, also known as the candelabra cactus, originates from East Africa, where it spans from Ethiopia to South Africa. It belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family, a large plant family with various shapes and sizes.

Characteristics
The Euphorbia erythrea is a distinctive plant due to its long, segmented stems that grow in a spiral. It grows upright and can reach heights of up to 5 metres. The colour varies from dark green to bluish green with bright, red tones. The plant has small, waxy leaves that drop quickly and produces inconspicuous, red flowers.

Care
The care of the Candelabra cactus is relatively straightforwards. A location with plenty of sunlight is ideal, but the plant can also survive in light shade. In the summer, watering should be limited to once a week and in the winter, sporadic watering is sufficient. The optimal temperature for this cactus is between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius.
