Origin
The Homalomena emerald red, also known as Homalomena rubescens, is originally from the rainforests of Southeast Asia. This type of plant can commonly be found in Malaysia and Sulawesi, but is also found in the Philippines and parts of Australia and New Guinea.

Characteristics
The Homalomena emerald red is an evergreen plant that is known for its unique, heart-shaped leaves. These leaves have a rich, dark green colour and can grow up to 30 centimetres long. Under the right conditions, the plant can grow to a height of about 90 centimetres. The flowers of the Homalomena emerald red are inconspicuous and usually grow hidden among the leaves.

Care
The Homalomena emerald red requires high humidity, similar to that of its tropical origin so we recommend positioning in a bathroom or kitchen or spraying regularly if placed in a room with dry air. The plant is tolerant of varying light conditions, but performs best in bright, indirect light. It is important to keep the soil moist,
