Origin
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii', also known as the striped sansevieria, originates from West Africa. It grows in a dry, savannah-like climate where the humidity levels vary. Traditionally, this plant has been cultivated for its fibres, which are used in ropes, baskets and textile art.

Characteristics
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii' stands out because of its long, pointed leaves that grow upright. These are dark green in colour with characteristic light yellow edges. The leaves generally form a pattern that is reminiscent of tiger stripes. The plant occasionally blooms with sweetly scented, green-white flowers.

Care
A Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii' requires minimal maintenance. The plant can grow in full sun to complete shade, but performs best under indirect light. The plant has a very low water demand and should be in completely dry soil between watering. Overwatering can cause root rot.
