Origin
The Yucca elephantipes, also known as the Spineless Yucca, has its origin in the southern parts of North America and Central America. It is primarily found in arid, desert-like areas, such as Mexico and Guatemala. This plant belongs to the Asparagaceae family and has spread to other parts of the world, including Europe, over the past centuries.

Characteristics
Yucca elephantipes is an evergreen plant that is known for its straight, tall, wooden trunks, dubbed 'elephant’s feet'. At the tops, the trunks bear clusters of long, pointed, light-green leaves. These leaves can grow up to sixty centimetres long. What also sets the Yucca elephantipes apart is the beautiful bloom that sometimes develops, featuring large, white, bell-shaped flowers.

Care
The care for the Yucca elephantipes is relatively simple, earning it widespread use as a houseplant. It prefers bright and indirect light but can also survive in partial shade. Watering needs to be done in moderation, especially in the winter, to prevent the roots from getting waterlogged. Further, the plant favours an environment with relatively low humidity.
