Origin
The Alocasia Wentii is a tropical plant species that originally comes from the humid regions of Southeast Asia. This plant is also known as the 'elephant's ear plant' because of its large, elephant ear-like leaves. It mainly grows in the undergrowth of the rainforest.

Characteristics
The Alocasia Wentii is characterised by its striking, shiny leaves, which are dark green in colour and have a bronze back. The plant can grow up to 1.5 metres tall and has stalks that are thick and fleshy. The leaves can grow up to 30 centimetres long and have a typical heart-shaped appearance, with the tip pointed downwards.

Care
>Alocasia typically demand minimal care. The plant prefers a warm and humid environment, similar to its tropical origin. Indirect sunlight is most suitable for the Alocasia, to prevent burning of the leaves. It is important to keep the soil moist, although overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot. Regular misting with water can help maintain humidity. The plant can be fed with a general houseplant fertiliser during the growing seasons.
