Planting System
This plant display is made up with a pot plant, filled with Vulkastrat and is equipped with a waterlevel indicator. Vulkastrat absorbs more water than regular soil and releases it gradually to the roots. Vulkastrat cannot shrink shut due to its coarse structure, which keeps the soil more airy and allows the roots to absorb enough oxygen.

The Kentia (Howea) forsteriana originates from the Australian island of Lord Howe. The export of this plant began in the 19th century, making it known worldwide and increasing its popularity as a house plant. The island's ideal growing conditions, with high humidity and moderate temperatures, are characteristic of this plant's needs.

Characteristics
Characteristic of the Kentia (Howea) forsteriana are the long, elegant palm leaves that have a deep green colour. This palm can reach a height of up to three metres, but grows slowly, about 20 cm per year. The Kentia palm is valued for its tolerance of low light, making it an ideal plant for indoor use.

Care
Caring for Kentia palm is relatively straightforwards. They only require moderate watering and so it is important only to water when the top layer of soil feels dry to touch. They are adaptable to a range of light conditions but prefer a spot with indirect or filtered light.
