Origin
The Sansevieria zeylanica, also known as the 'Snake Plant', originally hails from West Africa. It is a plant species that primarily grows in dry regions, such as savannahs and the edges of deserts. This type of Sansevieria is named after the island of Sri Lanka, formerly known as Zeylanica.

Characteristics
The Sansevieria zeylanica is known for its long, slender, dark green leaves, which have a flaming pattern in light green shades. The leaves grow from the base of the plant and can grow up to 70 to 100 cm in length. With its sturdy leaves and tight, upright growth habit, this plant has a strong architectural appearance. A mature plant can reach a substantial width, making it a standout addition to any interior.

Care
The care required for the Sansevieria is minimal. The plant has a strong resistance to drought, so regular watering is not necessary. It is important that the soil completely dries out between watering to prevent root rot. The plant prefers indirect light, but can also survive at lower light levels.
